Research-to-Practice
CELL is using a research-to-practice framework for reviewing and synthesizing early literacy learning research and using the research evidence for developing evidence-based practice guides and tool kits. Both specialized and general technical assistance is being used to promote adoption and sustained use of CELL evidence-based practices. This research-to-practice framework is described in detail in one of our CELLpapers (Volume 1, Number 1).
The CELL research-to-practice framework includes three periods of early literacy development, two sets of literacy-related competencies, and both the formal and informal literacy learning opportunities that are the contexts for literacy learning. The research-to-practice framework is based on a developmental model of early communication, language and literacy learning, and six interrelated and overlapping literacy areas.
